Between Pixelmator and Sketch, I think it’s very easy for many casual and semi-pro designers to get rid of Adobe’s bloated software and have a lot more fun with a more focused feature set. I don’t think that it’s possible for a true pro to go without Adobe yet (if only because people transfer files in Adobe’s formats and you have to bend to your customers) but for somebody that wants to make graphics for their blogs, touch up photos, do some casual UI design, these kinds of tools are perfect. I’m glad that Adobe is seeing some real competition in this space, because that forces them to improve.
